Dromund Kaas is the third planet in the Dromund system, and the capital of the Sith Empire. Its coordinates unknown for centuries, the planet was rediscovered by Sith forces after a twenty year self-imposed exile following their defeat during the Great Hyperspace War. It is now home to the Sith Emperor and his Dark Council. The planet is unknown to the republic which is why it is the capital.

History

The coordinates of Dromund Kaas, the ancestral capital of the Sith Empire, were lost until the Great Hyperspace War; Sith seeking to avoid destruction at the hands of the Jedi rediscovered the world by chance. Over time these survivors set about the task of rebuilding the Empire, intent on returning to the galaxy and bringing their might to bear against their foes once again.

Efforts to reestablish the Empire's military might took more than a thousand years to complete. Despite numerous victories by Sith forces, Dromund Kaas remains the center of Imperial power. Both the Emperor and the Dark Council call the world home, and it remains the focal point for political maneuvering amongst the Empire's military personnel.

"Dromund Kaas is the capital of the Sith Empire, founded a millenium ago in the aftermath of the Great Hyperspace War. Since then, the sleek metropolis of Kaas City has grown into a symbol of Imperial power, towering over the surrounding jungle and looming dark against the stormy skies.

The military and the Sith have authority here, under the eye of the Emperor himself. Aside from the wildlife, the greatest threats are internal--slave revolts, feuding Sith Lords and the like. Planetary defenses are formidable, as the Empire still remembers its defeat and exile long ago."
