Duros are one of the first hyperspace traveling species in the galaxy. They also are one of the founders of the Galactic Republic. Their homeworld is Duro, which is nearly inhabitable, so the Duros live in orbital stations. Due to their long history of space travel, Duros are considered some of the finest navigators and ship builders in the galaxy.

Stantorrs, a Duros, served as Supreme Commander of the Republic Military from circa 10 ATC.
