Re: How to add links Edit

Hi, there! To add links there are two ways.

The first one is simple. You click on the "Add link" button that's on top of the editing box. There you can select if the link is internal, aka a page on the wiki, or external, a page that is not on the wiki. After you have chosen that you enter the name of the wiki page or the web adress in the first text box and how you want the link to be displayed in the second text box. The tool is pretty self explanatory.

The second way is a little bit more complicated, but once you get to know wiki markup it will become quite easy and sometimes more convenient. It involves working with the source code. You don't need to enter source view to use this method, but it may be easier to do that at first. Square brackets are used to show that a certain text is a link. To indetify an internal link two square brackets are used on both sides of the text " ". To indentify an external link only one bracket is used on both sides "[ ]". To make the text show differently in an internal link you use a vertical bar | between the page name and the text you want to show. To do that for an external link you leave a space " " between the link and the text you want to be shown. Note: When you enter an external link if you don't enter a text to be shown, the link will look like this: [1] so make sure to enter a text to be shown.

Ok if this didn't make sence here are some examples:

Jedi Knight gives Jedi Knight

Jedi Knight Rocks gives Jedi Knight Rocks

gives [1]

http://www.swtor.com gives http://www.swtor.com

The SW:TOR Homepage gives The SW:TOR Homepage

I hope that made sence. If you have any questions contact me on my Talk Page. Dosadnik 1 (talk) 08:18, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
